Sarah Wauters, Interim Executive Director
As Interim Executive Director of Kids in a New Groove (KING), Sarah Wauters uses her knowledge and passion for helping others to advance the nonprofit’s mission to provide Texas youth in foster care with a committed one-on-one mentoring relationship through weekly private music instruction, giving students the ability to build concrete strategies for life-long success.
Sarah first joined KING in 2018 as program manager bringing her extensive experience in program management, relationship building, fundraising, community outreach and event planning. For more than 10 years, Sarah has been serving nonprofits in Austin including Integral Care, March of Dimes and the Livestrong Foundation. Sarah, a fluent dual-language speaker in English and Spanish, holds a B.S. in psychology from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra in the Dominican Republic. She enjoys traveling and reading and is currently teaching her husband and two children how to dance merengue and bachata.
